As a teacher, planning holiday events for my students and their families was one of the most joyful aspects of my job. One of my favorite memories was watching my students make air clay turkeys. As they painted their turkeys, they all spontaneously started singing "The Duck Song" together. It was such a small, yet significant moment for me; I paused cleaning up, stood at the counter, and watched. There was such harmony and joy in the air as they sang and painted. It was the most connected I had seen them, truly immersed in the present moment, free from worries about lessons, grades, or personal troubles. It brought everyone together, and I felt incredibly grateful to witness it. I loved facilitating these moments where students could learn about each other’s cultures, bond through art, and explore their creativity.
